Hi everybody! It’s been a long time since our last release. The good news is that I’ve been working on AriOS 3 for one week and it’s almost ready! The problems and difficuties that kept me from releasing AriOS 2.0 64-bit (frequent trips, internet problems, etc.) still persist, but I have decided to release version 3 anyway. Work started around one week ago. After playing for Unity for a few days, I decided to go for the successful and proven combination of Gnome 2 + AWN + DockbarX like the previous version. Desktop layout will remain the same as AriOS 2 with only a few minor changes. Synapse will be responsible for launching applications and opening places, so you will not miss Unity’s Dash. I’ve did my best to take what’s good about Unity and offer it in a more familiar and productivity-oriented environment.

However I need your help and ideas in some areas. I must make a number of decisions, but I really want to listen to any ideas before making up my mind.

1- Should Unity be available? Unity can be offered as an optional session. What do you think?

2- Which system utilities should be installed by default? Candidates include Ubuntu Tweak, Grub Customizer, GDM Tweaker, BUM and Startup Manager, among others.

3- Is a clipboard manager necessary to be shipped by default? What app would you suggest?

I really need your feedback and need it soon. Hopefully there will be a beta iso available for download shortly and it would be great if you send me your ideas before the beta is released.
