First I should apologize everyone who asked for the 64-bit version for such a long delay.

Actually the 64-bit version “has” been in the making since I released the 32-bit version, but due to a lot of personal problems I haven’t been able to give it the final touches and the necessary polish.

However, the good news is that during the last 2 days I had the chance to work on it and we are now very close to the final release. So expect the ISOs to appear this week.

There are a few changes compared to the 32-bit version. First, LibreOffice 3.3.0 replaced OpenOffice.org as the default office suite. Second, I added new PPAs for Mplayer and VLC so that users can always benefit from the latest versions of the two popular multimedia players.

Now a big problem is versioning of this release. It’s not identical to the 32-bit version so I can’t call it 2.0. On the other hand I don’t like the idea of having AriOS 32-bit 2.0 and 64-bit 2.1 at the same time. Any suggestions?
